My Birthday..........

Smack dab in the middle of the week. And I know how we've always treated everyone at work. Joked, and kidded around. A pretty neat card with tons of names and people knew it was your birthday because those who knew told those who didn't and it was just a nice day.
Well, my birthday card had a pig on it. I don't know about anyone else, but I would never ever ever get another woman a card with a P-I-G on it no matter how it was drawn. I smiled and hoped to God they didn't have a clue and meant no harm. sheesh! And there was a smattering of signatures....
BECAUSE....
Somehow... the word was spread around the OR that today was the birthday of one of our more conniving gossips. So lots of people were wishing her Happy Birthday, not knowing it was mine at all, and no one bothered to correct the situation... which I have to say was rather disappointing and did hurt my feelings. One of the reps even went so far as to buy her a little cake. (He felt like an absolute fool. He found me later. I expressed my condolences.) I pretty much just stepped back and observed. Felt bad for the rep. Shook my head at such shenanigans. I don't get involved in these things.
My family bailed on me for the weekend. Too busy to stop by and say hi. So husband and I went out the RenFest on the most beautiful Autumn day yet and had a blast! ^_^ My Mirkwood Home sisters came through tho. The elves always throw a great party.
